The Birds of a Feather School offers classes and workshops for all ages, abilities/disabilities, and schedules. From weekday classes to weekend workshops and create-your-own sessions, we offer art classes and much, much more. Classes at the Studio

We believe in Picasso’s words: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one once he grows up.” It seems natural that adults can learn art and freedom of expression from working with children, and that children’s learning is deepened by the adult’s approach to art-making. Because we have two full-time artist-teachers, the needs and interests of all are met. This “multi-generational” approach is an exciting and inspirational way to experience the joy that is inherent in the creative process. Click “More details” below to see what classes are coming up.

Hour-long visits are designed for school classes, special education groups, daycare centers, community center trips, etc. Experience the artists’ 1810 working studio and create a project with an agreed upon theme. Studio capacity: 12, or outdoor activity: 20. Cost dependent on number of participants. Please call for availability.

Hour-long art projects to celebrate a holiday or birthday are designed to appropriately suit the attendant’s ages and abilities/disabilities. Projects can fit your theme or we will be happy to make suggestions.

 

At your location: $135.00/hour + $3.50 supply fee per participant (includes travel to your site, set-up and clean-up).

 

At the studio: $110.00/hour + supply fee as above. Parties are limited to 12 children.

 

The studio may be used for additional time to eat, play games, etc. without the artists’ presence, for $25.00/hour. You will be responsible for set-up and clean-up during the added time.

Children’s Parties

For large groups seeking stress relief, new ways of seeing things, healing and/or a creative boost, we come to your place of business or worship to engage participants in an inspirational talk and engaging activity. Cost is dependent on number of participants, amount of time requested and distance.
